Levi’s Green Initiative – 8 Bottles. 1 Jean. The Waste Less Video

What can you do with 8 plastic bottles? And what does this have to do with denim? Well, Levi’s are happy to let you know that they’ve sorted out a way to turn bottles into jeans – 8 bottles to be precise. Now, 8 plastic water bottles make up a minimum of 20% of each new Levi’s Waste<Less jeans.

Over the next few years, they’ll be expanding this initiative to produce products which should reduce some of the company’s impact on our earth. During Spring of 2013 alone, they’ll be reusing over 3.5 million recycled plastic bottles, not a bad number!

It’s good to know that when you pull on a pair of these jeans (even though they’re not raw, at least not yet) that you’re doing the environment some good. Given today’s pressures to recycle and do your bit in helping out with conservation, picking up a new pair of jeans definitely seems a pretty good way to go about doing things.
