New Zealand’s one-man brand, Ande Whall, has been featured here on Heddels multiple times before and frequent readers are familiar with his prolific nature. There’s something to the fact that when you purchase an Ande Whall product, you know that every element is hand-made by the man himself.
In keeping with his tradition of naming each of his standard denim releases a “Special Roll“, he recently his latest creation, the SR6. Like its predecessors, the SR6 has a unique construction element to make it stand out, most notably the colorful poncho cloth on the front pocket facings; something markedly different from others in the space.
Building on his idea of creating “new classics” that celebrate a clean aesthetic, Whall kept the back pockets clean this time after customers requested the change. The bare look is a nice contrast with the poncho cloth, which is in fact available in multiple colors upon request via their website. For those who aren’t a fan of the bright cloth, plain versions are also available.
The denim itself is a 15.3 Oz. sanforized pink selvedge line denim from Okayama, Japan with a super crisp and rigid feel. Whall used the same denim in a previous line a few years back and was kind enough to supply images showing the kind of fades that are possible (see below). Keeping in-line with previous releases, all seat and rise seams are hand-felled.
The SR6 line is available in four fits – the Cobra (Super Slim), Mustang (Slim), Caribou (Regular), and Buffalo (Loose). Hop over to their website to take a closer look.
