Originally featured on Pure Blue Japan’s blog a couple months ago, today’s Fade Friday shines the spotlight on a pair of Pure Blue Japan (PBJ) 24-007. PBJ’s denim is consistently praised for its unique slubby texture and vibrant fades, and the 24-007‘s are no exception.
Even with the superheavy 24 oz. base denim, an incredible amount of detail is placed in these jeans. Genuine indigo is used to partially dye the warp threads leaving an un-dyed core, while the weft threads are left un-dyed as well. The results, as can be seen in this week’s segment of Fade Friday, are stunning. Dark indigo melts into a lighter but intense electric-blue hue which contrasts from near-white.
