Fade of the Day – Somet 008 (4 Years, 4 Washes, Unknown Soaks)

Thrash, repair, repeat. That’s the only way to describe the insanity happening with this pair of Somet 008s sent in to us by Nick Go of British Columbia, Canada, after wearing them hard for four years straight.

We aren’t sure what exactly Nick was doing outside of the classroom while he wore these jeans through undergrad and law school, but whatever it was it sure did a number on his jeans. Dedication is the key to denim fade success, and that also includes keeping your jeans wearable by repairing them when they need it. From belt loops to pockets, to a plethora of patches throughout, Nick fought to keep his 008s in the game and even sent us some inside-out shots to get a better picture of the level of commitment seen here.

The results are more white than indigo these days, but are rich with details including some tightly formed honeycombs and some of the trippiest stacks I’ve seen to date. Nick has since outgrown these jeans after a change in workout routines, but it’s hard to think he will be parting with them anytime soon.
