Eidos Dark Indigo Sashiko Wrap Cardigan

Italian brand Eidos, kid sibling of all-grown-up Isaia, has made an indigo wrap cardigan that knits together some far-flung historical influences. The thick knit, waist sash, and indigo dye channels classic Japanese martial arts style—we’re looking at you, kendogi. And the British Isles make an appearance in the shawl collar (hat tip to Lieutenant General James Brudenell, Seventh Earl of Cardigan) and the traditional lattice knit that borders the cuffs and waist. In other words, it’s perfect for Oxford students currently taking kendo lessons. Or something like that.

Made in Italy with a 100% cotton, a closer look at this already-substantial sweater reveals a variegated yarn, which adds even more depth and texture.  An oversized fit, patch pockets at the waist, and the comfy belted tie closure make for a layer that’s as comfortable as it is stylish.

Available from Unionmade for $550.
