Fade of the Day – RRL Slim Fit Rigid (3 Years, 2 Washes)

Ever wonder what jeans a jeans designer wears? Wonder no more! Today’s Fade Of The Day comes by way of San Fransisco, with this pair of RRL Slim Fit Rigids that belong to Heddels reader Chris Carlsson. Chris has worn these jeans for three years, spending the majority of that time working with Polo Ralph Lauren as a denim designer, and tells us these fades came with a lot of hard work, logging some serious mileage with the design team.

Chris took the previously-popular approach of keeping these jeans dry for as long as possible, washing them for the first time just two months ago when he moved back to his hometown of San Fran. This means the indigo dye is still deep and strong, but the creasing is bright and defined. The crispy honeycombs are the star of the show, wrapping right ’round to the knees which are nice and faded. Top top it off, whiskers have developed in the lap, and some roping can be seem on the hems.

Somehow, no repairs have been needed, but there is some fraying towards the hems which could need some attention if Chris is to carry on his journey in these RRLs.
