I remember buying my first pair of raws. I’d caught the raw denim bug, got myself straight into some selvedge jeans, and I couldn’t wait to get myself some sweet fades. I thought I was a denim connoisseur, but my fades looked nothing like the one’s on this pair of 3sixteen Shadow Selvedge that come to us from a customer of our friend’s at Rivet & Hide. These 3sixteen’s were his first pair of raw denim jeans and purchased from R&H when they opened their physical store three years ago. It’s safe to say he’s entered the game with a bang, as these stellar fades have earned him this week’s Fade Friday.
These jeans have seen three years of wear, where they’ve spent a lot of time under a because of to the owner’s office job. We don’t have any details on washes, but the stark, crispy fades that cover the whole jeans would suggest minimal water contact. Super-defined whiskers and creases cover the lap, and some rippling stacks have emerged towards the rugged hems. On the reverse, the seat and calves have both faded to white, and a set of grail-status honeycombs complete a wear-pattern that is in a league of its own.
