Fade of the Day – Imperial Denim Duke (1.5 Years, 3 Washes)

Today’s Fade Of The Day features another fade-debut, this time for Australian brand Imperial Denim. This pair of Dukes come from Richard Kurniawan, who has been wearing them for 18 months in the sweltering heat of Indonesia.

Even though he’s been wearing them almost daily for 7 to 10 hours at a time, Richard tells us this 14.25 oz. denim has been a tough nut to crack. These Imperials are showing some promise though: some whiskers have started to form in the crotch, and there’s nice little bits of patina growing all over the jean, like the sharp back-pocket fade from a pomade tin. There’s even some faint honeycombs emerging behind the knees, which will only get better. All Richard has to do is keep working on these slow faders and good things are sure to come.
