Fade of the Day – Stevenson Overall Co. Santa Rosa 767-RXX (1.5 Years, 7 Washes)

This edition of Fade of the Day marks another appearance for Stevenson Overall Co., and this pair of Santa Rosa 767-RXX’s are the daily jean of choice for Colin Widmer, a medical student and denim head from Switzerland.

These Stevensons have been jet-setting around the world with Colin for a year and a half, traveling through eight countries where he surfed and biked along the way. And his travels around the U.S.A. meant he could get them hemmed at Seattle denim store, Blue Owl Workshop. As for the fades, the usual suspects are out in force—solid whiskers, back-pocket fades, and stark honeycombs that complete a strong wear pattern. One of the nicest things about Stevenson jeans is how they age in such a vintage fashion, and this pair is no exception with it’s steely-blue, washed out denim and roped hems.

After so much adventuring, it was inevitable that some repairs would be needed—to the yoke, which Colin sewed up himself, and to the back pocket, which was reinforced using Sashiko stitching and denim cut-offs from hemming. But these wabi-sabi details only add to the charming patina of these Stevensons, which still have fuel in the tank for more of Colin’s travels.
