Red Wing Limited Edition Black Klondike Irish Setter Moc

Because nothing makes sense anymore, Red Wing’s latest addition to their limited edition Irish Setter series was done a very special, very un-Setter, color: Black Klondike.

OG Irish Setters came in your standard boot colors, with the butterscotch colorway becoming the most iconic under the ‘Setter’ mark before ceding some ground to a rosey, reddish brown after some time. But this most recent release switches gears from the jump, using an upper previously only available from Red Wing in Japan. That leather, the Black Klondike, has been dyed brown then overdyed black for an incredibly rich finish, and with wear the black will fade away, exposing the rich brown beneath. So while each pair leaves the factory looking the same, they won’t stay that way.

Once worn steadily, they’ll break in uniquely based on how each pair’s owner deploys them, and as such, each pair will eventual evolve into its very own combo of a black & brown. The classic 6″ moc-toe shape is complemented with the historic Irish Setter logo, retro packaging, an embossed “Red Wing” name on the inside quarter of the boot, and additional laces.

Available for $320 at Stag Provisions.
