Fade of the Day – Naked & Famous Okayama Spirit 2 (16 Months, 2 Washes, 2 Soaks)

It’s time for Fade of the Day, and today we have a pair of Naked & Famous Okayama Spirit 2’s, coming to us courtesy of Sandika Akbar over in Indonesia. We’re used to seeing jeans of any description quickly shredded by the Indonesian climate, but today’s fade would suggest that it has some mercy, as Sandika’s N&Fs have managed to hold on to most of their dye after 16 months of wear.

Sandika wears these jeans daily, which certainly shows in the creases that have set in throughout. The indigo may still be fairly dark, but these jeans are made of 18 oz. double-indigo denim, which would be a tough nut to crack for even the most seasoned denim head. Nevertheless, the fabric’s slubby nature is becoming more apparent as the dye breaks down, and the honeycombs look like they mean business.
