Today’s Fade of the Day examines Switzerland’s Nicolas Lamblet’s 3 year old Red Wings, which, just by the look of them, we think it’s safe to call them our Patina of the Day too.

These days you can’t throw a rock without hitting someone wearing a pair of moc toe 1907s. They’re everywhere. However, few pairs look as hard-boiled as these. Nicolas says he wore them daily for about 8-9 months per year, the last three years including metal and wood working; and our hunch tells us that metal working will speed up the wear of just about anything.

Looking crustier than a 80-year-old whale with a belly coated in barnacles, these leather boots have been through the ringer for sure. Something tells us the sight of these pics would make the hardworking folks at the Red Wing factory quite pleased.
