Fade of the Day – L.L. Bean 10-inch Bean Boot (10+ Years, Unknown Cleanings)

Even though the weather outside has been less than ideal for some of us, today’s Fade of the Day is an item that’s built for harsh weather. James, from Springfield, Missouri, sent us in his L.L. Bean 10″ Bean Boots that have been worn for over a decade.

These boots have been worn everywhere, doing everything from hunting in the woods and fishing, to chores and (most importantly) Saturday football games. Because of the length of their tenure and the abuse they’ve taken, they had to get rebuilt through the L.L. Bean re-sole program, but they’re back and kicking.

Originally, these boots’ leather was a tan buckskin, but thanks to oils and wear and tear over the years, they’ve patinated into a reddish dark brown color. Like the woods and weather they’re made to operate in, these boots are a force to be reckoned with.
