Fade Friday – Denim Error Workwear Jacket Lot 1 (3 years, 1 wash, Unknown Soaks)

For this week’s installment of Fade Friday, Virat Youtamuti of Thailand presents a Denim Error jacket that is making all his other jackets jealous. For the last three years, and besides one wash, it doesn’t look like Virat has taken this thing off and the evidence just happens to be our specialty: fades!

Seriously, this jacket looks like its true vintage and has been through decades of wear based on heavy indigo loss near the bottom third of the body alone. The chest and shoulder areas provide a nice change of pace with a little more indigo left in the fabric. I wouldn’t call it high contrast however, more like a mellow blend.

And for those of you who think he cut pant legs off a well worn pair of jeans to use as the arm sleeves, you’re wrong: those honeycombs are the real deal, carved from repetitive arm movements, day in and day out. The shawl collar is seasoned perfectly with a great bit of wear along the neckline.
