Fade Friday – Oldblue Co. Beast (11 Months, 1 Wash, 3 Soaks)

For this weeks Fade Friday, we had to bring out the FBFI (Federal Bureau of Fade Investigation), because Saputra Riki’s Oldblue co. denim has like 5 years of fading into it after only 11 months, 1 was, and 3 soaks. However, after an intense investigation and many sleepless minutes, we can confirm that these fades are in fact, authentic.

At first, it may seem impossible for 20+ oz. denim to look like this under a year. But when you factor in that Saputra has been wearing these jeans every single day in the humid climate of Jakarta, Indonesia, you start to see how it was possible.

With whiskers reminiscent of a symmetrical pair of wings and honeycombs that look like they have been plugged into a wall socket, these jeans have clearly been put through their paces. All this said, the main event for us is the thighs. Riddled with dye loss and almost white in tone, they shine bright in contrast next to the darker indigo regions of these faded beauties.
