Momotaro Collaborates With Oris Watches For a Denim-Soaked Diver

If you’ve been in the raw denim scene as long as many of us, you’ve probably bought most of the clothing pieces you’ve lusted after. Maybe you’ve even branched into jewelry and high-end boots… but if you’ve really transcended to the next tier of irresponsible collecting, you’re probably looking at watches.

In terms of clothing and accessories, watches are kind of like the final frontier. A baller watch can make any outfit so if you’ve been looking to hemorrhage some cash on a new timepiece, take a  look no further than this collaboration between Swiss watchmakers, Oris, and Momotaro. This watch is a special edition of the Oris Sixty-Five Diver, a famously elegant dive watch with just the right amount of flair to facilitate this collaboration.

Featuring an automatic winding date movement, the watch has a case size of 40mm, which is around the sweet-spot for a dive watch. This steel and bronze case pairs handsomely with the green dial, that’s fitted with a domed sapphire top-glass. So, where does Momotaro come in? Well, given their raw denim pedigree, they’ve supplied Oris with raw denim straps, replete with the brand’s famous battle stripes.

There’s a pretty steep learning curve with watches, but you can check our Beginner’s Dictionary of Watches to clarify any terminology. In addition, the watch experts over at Hodinkee have given this handsome piece an extensive write-up, and you should absolutely read their site if you’re thinking about getting into watches.
