Alsta Reissues Hooper’s Superautomatic Watch From Jaws

Alsta is finally re-releasing their “Jaws” Nautoscaph Superautomatic and let’s just say before we get going, here, I’ve never seen Jaws. Similar to my knowledge level of the cult classic, I don’t know a whole lot about watches, however, I can confirm this is definitely a watch.

However, judging from its appearance alone, I can tell you it looks like we are working with a matte black C3 Super-LumiNova dial, 316L Marine grade brushed stainless steel case with polished edges, automatic movement, and a sapphire crystal glass. Once again, all of this deduced without any help/resources.

Originally released in 1970, the Superautomatic was immortalized when it sat on the wrist of Richard Dreyfuss in some movie with the same name as this re-release. This faithful re-edition has been assembled entirely in Switzerland apart from the movement which is made by Japan’s Seiko.

Limited to 1975 pieces worldwide after the release of the most iconic pictures of all time, you’re going to want to get these before they get snapped up like Quint.
