Swap Sateen For Ripstop With Engineered Garment’s Drawstring Pants

Sometimes, I’ll see something and just be like, “Yup.” Nothing more. It doesn’t mean the same thing every time it happens, and it’s oftentimes a three-letter stand-in for like 45 other more complex feelings I don’t feel like unpacking, but it also can just be “Yup.” These Engineered Garments Drawstring Pants are the latter. There’s really no need to overthink them, and considering they’re super straightforward, there really isn’t much room to.

Made in the U.S.A. from a 100% cotton ripstop fabric dyed a classic olive drab, these feature an elastic waist with an adjustable drawstring, on-seam front pockets, a welt pocket at the back right, another welt pocket at the left leg, and a relaxed, tapered fit. Again, not much room to overthink things.

And though it’s decidedly not the time to be talking lightweight pant options—at least in the U.S., considering half the country is dealing with weather events specifically predicted by the Roland Emmerich classic, The Day After Tomorrow (2004)—it’s also been almost a year of This All™ and escapism-via-clothing is far less harmful than alternative measures.
