Fade Friday – Custom Leather Wallet (8 Years)

Finland-based David was living in Hong Kong 8 years ago when he found himself in need of a new wallet. After some research, he found what he thought was the perfect one on Kickstarter. But ironically, it couldn’t do the only thing it needed to do: hold money. See, David’s literal fat stacks (Hong Kong bills are wide) were too big for the narrow wallet leading to crumpled money. So, as an ingenious workaround, he got a leather artisan friend to make a revised version of the Kickstarter wallet – and the result happened to look way better, and could hold his wide-ass notes.

So for the best part of a decade, David has been seasoning his wallet through everyday use and has produced some gorgeous patina along the way. It’s like it was lightly toasted over a campfire for jussssst the right amount of time. Rich and inviting brown color and dark contouring edges. And look at that beefy stitching which has managed to keep its natural tone, giving nice contrast to the burnished leather.
