Michael in South East USA has been hitting the ground running in his John Lofgren Engineer boots, wasting no time getting some patina goin’ in the last 9 months.From running errands, coffee runs and doing yard work, to going on walks and just hanging around, these end-level Engineers get daily wear – even in the rain!

Michael’s carefree attitude shows me that he doesn’t hold back on his boots, perhaps out of respect for the top-tier craftsmanship of John Lofgren, but also because they will only get cooler with age. We’re sure Lofgren wouldn’t want anyone to baby a pair of his boots, and Engineer boots are one of those styles that actually looks kinda weird fresh out of the box.

These perfectly beat-up boots should set an example to those only wearing theirs with shoe booties on in a climate-controlled environment. They can take it. Trust me. I mean, look – the toe scuffs, deep crease lines at the bend, and perfectly toasted hues speak for themselves. Not to mention the perfect slouch as they stand. Careful now, Brando and Dean are getting jealous.
