Jelado Introduces Vintage Finish Denim For Its Latest 301XX Jean

Japanese heavyweight Jelado is making an air-tight case for the pre-washed dungaree with their ‘Age of Longing’ 301 XX Vintage Finish Denim Jeans. A true stitch-for-stitch homage to the absolutely iconic early 50s Levi’s 501XX, Jelado dissected an original pair — get out the denim smelling salt — to ensure everything was as accurate as possible, from the cotton used, thickness of the thread, fiber length, and the overall weight.

And then there’s the main event, that glorious perfectly washed-out vintage fade giving us just the right amount of grain, creasing, and a buffet of faded indigo hues. Perfect for people who want some denim evolution in their wardrobe without having to spend long days building fades, or just want to have something close to an original pair of faded Levi’s from the 50s.

The Age of Longing 301XX jean obviously has all the big details down if they were worried about the freaking thread thickness, but one detail that needs to be singled out is the ‘jerky’ patch. On original pairs, with years of wear or just exposure to the elements, the real leather patches would shrink and pucker. This is the first pair I’ve seen that accurately replicates this satisfying detail. So go ahead, tell people you’re rocking 50’s denim, every person you fool is a compliment to Jelado after all!
