The Momotaro x HINOYA Special Order Narrow Tapered “Momotaro Style WWII Model” aren’t like other jeans. For one thing, they’re exclusive to HINOYA, so you won’t find them sold at just any Momotaro denim retailer. They’re also incredibly special, from the Zimbabwe-sourced 100% cotton 15.7 oz. Extra Dark Indigo denim, to the traditional Momotaro Jeans style battle stripes — done up in camouflage palette-inspired Momotaro x HINOYA prints — and all the other beautifully done details we’re above to dive into.
Based on Momotaros 0105 slim tapered fit, these aren’t exactly true to the WWII-era fit of Levi’s reproduction denim – and that’s a good thing if you like a solid modern cut. They come complete with olive herringbone twill fabric pocket bags (continuing on the military theme), green screen-printed Momotaro sheep skin leather patch, white and pink selvedge ID, chainstitched hem and waistband, bar tack reinforcements, rivet-less coin pocket, and Momo’s iconic pink inseam thread.
We have a feeling that Extra Dark Indigo denim is going to provide you with some nice high-contrast fades, thanks to its white weft. And if that’s your bag, just wear these jeans as much as possible without washing and enjoy the denim evolution.
