Studio D’Artisan is Back with Another Stellar Type I Denim Jacket

The Studio D’Artisan Type I Denim Jacket is a denim dream done right. Much like your Levi’s reproduction-style jeans, the Levi’s style Type I denim jacket (originally marketed to miners and workers over a hundred years ago) still holds up. While today we aren’t mining for gold, just cryptocurrency, a classic denim jacket like this never feels outdated. The Type I style isn’t quite as ubiquitous as a Type 3, AKA the trucker jacket, making it a much more interesting option when trying to select a new piece of indigo-dyed outerwear.

Studio D’Artisan is one of the original Japanese denim brands doing American reproduction-style clothing, so it’s an easy guess that their jeans and jackets are going to be on point. This 15 oz. right-hand twill denim was milled to SDAs exact specifications, modeled after vintage denim, so it’ll age like that priceless Type I in the vintage store that you’ll never be able to afford.

In addition to being an affordable entry to Japanese denim jackets, the Type I Jacket is complete with contrast stitching, rivet reinforcements, white/blue selvedge ID, proprietary metal buttons, a single chest pocket, a back cinch to bring in the hem, pleated front that you can let out if you need a bit more room for your belly, reinforced front and back yokes, adjustable cuffs, SDA goatskin patch, and a classic boxy (slightly cropped) fit.

Available for $265 from HINOYA.
