Coin Pocket Leather Wallets – Five Plus One

Five Plus One is our weekly series of buyer’s guides. We pick a specific category and dig up five great options along with one that’s a little outside the norm.

Whether you still carry coins with you, have a spare key, or just need to carry some random odds and ends, a Coin Pocket Leather Wallet is an excellent option. In addition, all the wallets on this list will have ample room for your cards and paper money to ensure you’ll be able to carry everything you need.

1) The Flat Head: Cordovan Trifold Mini Wallet

While bi-fold wallets make up the vast majority of the wallet market, it’s still possible to get some top-notch trifolds such as The Flat Head‘s Cordovan Trifold Mini Wallet.

While the name may make this wallet seem small, in truth, it’s pretty jam-packed with features. Made from shell cordovan with a pig skin lining, this wallet has a large bill pocket, three card slots that can each accommodate multiple cards, and the requisite coin pouch. This wallet is hand-sewn in Japan, and while the price is high you’re getting top-notch materials and construction for the money.

Available for $682 from Corlection.

2) Master-Piece: Notch Bifold Wallet

If you’re interested in a leather wallet with some tech-y vibes, then Master-Piece‘s Notch Billfold Wallet is worth your consideration. With two bill slots, ten card slots, four hidden pockets, and a coin pocket, this wallet packs a lot of storage into a small package. This Japan-made wallet is designed with a gusset for the coin pouch and a snap-closure center panel to hide away lesser-needed cards and carry.

Available for $110 from Wallace Mercantile Shop.

3) Kobashi Studio: Leather Fold Wallet

For a minimalist bifold that still has room for coins, then Kobashi Studio‘s Leather Folder Wallet is an excellent contender. Made in Japan, this wallet has a very understated design but still manages to pack room for a bill pocket, coin pouch, and four card slots.

If you want something simple and compact but still with ample room for all your everyday carry then this might just be the right pick for you.

Available for $186 from Redcast Heritage.

4) Tanner Goods: Workman Wallet

For those who like larger wallets, Tanner Goods has you covered with their Workman Wallet. This trucker wallet is on the longer side and — with its two pockets, four card slots, and one zippered coin pocket — this wallet has everything you could possibly need. Finished off with a snap closure to keep everything well-secured and this vegetable tanned, made-in-the-USA wallet is a classic you’ll have in your pocket for years.

Available for $180 from Tanner Goods.

5) Obbi Good Label: WX2 Trifold Short Leather Wallet

Obbi Good Label‘s WX2 Trifold is another piece perfect for those who just aren’t sold on the classic, bifold design. The third flap on this wallet is really just a wrap-around snap closure, as the coin pocket and all the card slots are placed on the primary two sections. Available in three colorways, this wallet has the great design and material choices we’ve come to know and love from OGL.

Available for $245 from Rugged Gentlemen Shoppe.

Plus One – Ezra Arthur: The Japanese Wallet

While I’m not sold on the naming reason behind Ezra Arthur‘s ‘Japanese Wallet’, it’s hard to deny that this is an interesting piece. The butterfly-esque fold of this wallet allows for the carrying of coins in a central pocket while still having room for folded cash and several cards. Secured with a double snap, this is definitely the kind of wallet ideal for someone who prescribes to the minimalist aesthetic, and while I can’t see myself using it for everyday carry it’s certainly an interesting piece.

Available for $150 from Manready Mercantile.
