Skinner American Goods Drops its Standard Fit Jeans in Vidalia Mills Selvedge

When Vidalia Mills started pumping out selvedge denim using the same looms from the legendary Cone Mills White Oak Plant back in 2019, I knew that American denim was going to make a comeback. Fast forward to 2024 and denim labels across the globe are regularly cutting and sewing Vidalia Mills denim into beautiful and long-lasting selvedge denim products. It’s great to see and long may it continue.

One such release that’s caught our attention recently is Skinner American Goods‘ Standard Fit Jeans, made from  14 oz. raw selvedge denim from Vidalia Mills. The fabric really has that steely indigo Cone Mills look, which works perfectly on this no-nonsense tapered cut that Skinner dubs their ‘standard.

Skinner’s Standard Fit is roomy in the top block with a gradual taper down to a slim leg opening. They’re neither straight nor skinny – they sit in the middle. A modern standard. Each pair is made to order in Skinner’s Tallahassee workshop using vintage sewing machines and comes fitted with rivet reinforcements, robust pocket bags, a selvedge coin pocket, Union Special chain stitched hem, tucked belt loops, and a Skinner branded pass-through leather waist patch.

Available from Skinner American Goods for $225.
