HAVEN’s Rove Jacket is a Formidably Functional GORE-TEX Companion

If you prefer to see water bead up on the surface of your jacket rather than soaking into it, GORE-TEX is the obvious answer. It’s the first name that jumps into most heads when it comes to waterproofing, and it’s the first port of call for Canadian designer, HAVEN, and their line of premium outerwear.

Living in a country with over 170 days of rain a year, a GORE-TEX Jacket with fully taped seams isn’t a luxury for me – it’s essential. The HAVEN Rove Jacket is the kind of piece that would stay either on my chest or in my bag for much of the year, especially due to the fact that it’s literally packable. That’s right, this water-resistant shell packs right up into itself, making it easy to stuff into bags or large pockets. HAVEN didn’t have to add that feature, but their long history of stocking a range of technical outdoor wear from the likes of Veilance and Acronym means they know what souped-up outerwear should look like.

The fit is relaxed and boxy, with a powerful cinch at the hem to dial things even more. With a slim, longer-fitting silhouette being par for the course in the world of water-resistant jackets, it’s nice to see HAVEN opting for a more alternative silhouette reminiscent of 90s outerwear.

Each Rove Jacket is made in HAVEN’s homeland of Canada from a lightweight and durable three-layer GORE-TEX Windstopper material, constructed with full taped seams, an adjustable hood with brim plate, partially stretching cuffs, and watertight zippers throughout.
