We’ve all been there – repairs are inevitable when you’re committed to beating up your jeans. Steven Swinney from the UK took it upon himself to mend today’s Fade of the Day, a pair of Oni 506ZRNA 20 oz. Secret Denim, albeit in a rather unorthodox manner.
Steven’s lectured, cycled, and partied in these jeans, even scaling walls and the occasional fence, so a crotch blow out was a given. Check out that quirky DIY though; Steven got creative, swiping an old black tee and using a basic sashiko stitch to patch them up.
Steven wore his Onis every day for a whole year before downgrading them into his regular rotation. The result is every kind of fade you could want – a nice blue gradient, hipster honeycombs, a phone profile on the back pocket and decent stacking towards the hems.
