A good wallet is usually an investment, and one that is worth protecting from more than just pick-pockets. Richard Chin of Oregon sent us in some shots of his 14-month-old Voyej Gloire III Americana Wallet that he took extra good care of to ensure a high-quality patina was in his future, and we think he’s doing pretty well so far.

Richard tells us he tried to avoid wearing his bluest blue jeans in the first few months of using this wallet, as to not prematurely turn the edges of that gorgeous natural vegetable tanned leather dark with indigo. This resulted in some very rich caramel tones showing throughout the outer shell of the wallet, while the inside remains a lighter tan with some patina around the edges. Richard has doone one cleaning with Lexol and one conditioning of the leather thus far, and if he keeps it up like this he will have this wallet for many more years to come.
