Fade of the Day – 3sixteen+ 12BSP Left Hand Twill (17 Months, 2 Washes, 3 Soaks)

Vu Huynh in Australia is boasting a promising pair of 3sixteen jeans for today’s Fade of the Day. Vu has done everything in his jeans for the past year and five months including riding his bike, fixing up the house, working on cars, and going out with friends. In a threshold-breaking feat of dedication, Vu would even wear his jeans under his work uniform everyday at work. Hats off to you my friend.

With such hard wear comes the increased risk of thinning fabric. However, since Vu is the denim whisperer, he sensed that a crotch blowout was coming and had it preemptively repaired by his mother, who sews professionally. Good save.

The fades on this pair are shy and just need a little more work before they begin to shine. My scouts tell me promising areas include the lap and back of the knees which are producing some thin but deep whiskers and honeycombs, respectively. These fades although subtle, stand out as the rest of the jeans have maintained a uniform, dark color.
