Fade of the Day – Corter Leather Standard Utility Belt Natural (14 Months)

Sure, raw denim is cool, but we must also appreciate its longterm partner, vegetable tanned leather. This Corter Leather Utility Belt was submitted to us by Jose Chavez, of Nebraska, and its natural-colored leather has picked up patina in all the right spots, securing a spot in today’s Fade Of The Day.

This belt has been holding Jose’s jeans up for over 2 years, and it’s now a far cry from the natural color it once was. Daily activities, as well as fishing and biking, have all played their part in developing the patina we’re seeing here. As well as developing a burnished tan tone, notice how the leather has a subtle greyish-green cast. This is typical of Horween’s natural leather and just adds more unique character to the belt. Jose tells us he’s shed a few pounds, so he’ll need a new belt soon, but we’re sure his next one will look just as dope.
