Sophnet Modifies Lee’s Classic 101J Denim Jacket from the 30s

Japanese streetwear giants SOPHNET. have come together with Lee for a collaboration driven by heritage. The project offers a reproduction of the archetypal Lee 101J Denim Jacket, and it stays true to all the hallmarks that made it such a classic back in the late 1930’s.

Considering the result of the last collaboration between these two brands was a multi-toned denim chore coat — dubbed the ‘Loco Jacket’ — it’s clear that SOPHNET. and Lee wanted to strip things back this time around. The jacket is constructed from 12oz. raw denim, with adjustable cuffs, a singular chest pocket and contrast stitching, and details like the coveted cinch-back, the donut buttons, and old school labels make for some serious heritage kudos.

To freshen things up, silver rivets come in place of copper, and the body has been slightly elongated for the modern wardrobe.
