Some of the jeans we feature are worn by committed denim heads dedicated solely to achieving gnarly fades, while others choose raw denim for its sturdy build in a market that’s saturated with the opposite. Today’s Fade of the Day falls into that second category–a pair of 20-month-old Naked & Famous Heavy Soft Slim Guys worn hard by Fraank Demetrius of the USA.
In this particular case, 20 months means almost exactly 20 months (more than 470 wear days), as Fraank tells us he only buys one pair of jeans at a time and uses them for everything he does. They’re also a vessel to transport his daily carry items, consisting of at least one knife at a time, a small gun, and, of course, his trusty wallet.
The lightened indigo cast is the result of frequent washing, but these jeans still show a ton of great wear marks, including whiskers and white knees, as well as honeycombs and not-often-seen calf fades. Fraank has invested some money into keeping them alive for so long, but they were also his only pair, so wearability was vital.
