Fade of the Day – Iron Heart IHG-09 Bandana (3 Years)

Fade-of-the-Day---Iron-Heart-IHG-09-Bandana-(3-Years)-all

A faded Iron Heart Bandana.

Now here’s something we rarely see in the Fade of the Day section—a faded bandana! For today’s installment, we’ve been blessed with this Iron Heart IHG-09 Bandana, submitted by Michael Ogurchak from the United States. And what a beautiful Americana-style piece it is.

This is a repro of a Wrangler bandana from the ’60s-’70s, so it’s great to see a modern iteration that’s faded so authentically. Michael tells us he’s worn this bandana under his hard-hat for more than three years while working at power plants all over the world. All this hard wear has led to an unknown amount of washes—estimated at over 50—giving the selvedge indigo-dyed cotton a nice muted cast and some awesome patina. The center has heavily faded with wear and the subtle fades in the corners are, no doubt, from tying the bandana up. Also notice the micro-roping around the seams in the close-ups!

You can find Michael posting on the Iron Heart Forum under the handle Filthy25OzJunkie.
