Tender Type 211 Oak Bark Leather U Belt

If you think your leather belt needs to be plain so it can focus all its attention on holding your heavyweight raw denim jeans up, Tender is here to say that you can have style and functionality all in one with their new 211 Oak Bark Leather U Belt. It’s got a laundry list of crazy detailing, and you can still count on it to serve its purpose all day long.

This one’s not veg tanned, and it’s not chrome tanned… so what exactly is it? Well, Tender pulled out their history books for this belt, sourcing their hides from an English tannery that’s been in the biz since the Roman days that uses a technique called bark tanning. The leather used in the 211 belt tans for up to 18 months before it’s ready, pulling tannins from real wood bark to ultimately produce a leather that’s tough to the core with plenty of potential to earn some gnarly patina.

To keep the details going, they’ve added hand-dyed back stripes throughout, providing a little contrast to the lighter colored brown. And finally, they hold it all together with a lost-wax cast-produced reversible brass U buckle, also made in England (which is sort of like one buckle to rule them all, without all the weird baggage).
