Fade Friday – Oldblue Co. Indonesian Selvedge 19 oz. (16 Months, 1 Wash, 1 Soak)

It’s Fade Friday! But, before you begin your weekend of frolics and fading, take a moment to check out this grail pair of Oldblue Co. Indonesian Selvedge 19 oz.’s coming from denimhead, Novanda Erico Ilhamy, who hangs his hat in Java, Indonesia.

Clocking in at a measured 16 months of wear, Novanda has certainly put these Oldblue’s through their paces. As well as daily wear in the tropical heat of Indonesia, he’s worn them for hiking and field engineering work, which has undoubtedly helped contribute towards the fades we see here. The denim has been totally shredded, especially in the lap, where the indigo has been ground down to a near-white tone. Stark creases cover the whole jean, but, in keeping with Fade Friday tradition, we’ve got some epic whiskers and honeycombs that complete a wear pattern in a league of its own.

Bonuses include nice train track fades down the outseam and some subtle roping on the hems, and seeing as no repairs have been required yet, Novanda can carry on thrashing his Oldblue’s until they’re ready for the Wall Of Fades.
