Fade of the Day – Samurai S710BK Shadow (6 Years, Unknown Washes, 1 Soak)

As legend has it, if you wear your Samurai jeans for more than five years, a samurai appears and slices them down into jorts. Sort of. This pair of Samurai S710BK’s were chopped down by Bryan, a Heddels reader from Singapore, who has been rocking them for six years now.

Bryan tells us that the fades we can see here are from regular wear and motorcycle riding in the tropical climes of Singapore. In fact, the humid weather was the straw that broke the camel’s back in his decision to cut these Samurais down after just one year of wear. The lack of legs takes nothing away from the denim evolution, though, with chalky grey and white fades peppering what is left of the black denim, leaving some cripsy whiskers on the lap and subtle train track fades running down the outseams.

The pocket fade is pretty solid too, and the dye loss on the rear pockets really helps to accentuate the once-hidden black Samurai arcuates.
