Fade of the Day – Unbranded UB321 (1 Year, 6 Washes, 6 Soaks)

Unbranded strike again, with another pair of reasonably priced raw denim jeans that have produced some top-quality fades. Gautam Badveti, of India, has put a year of wear into these UB321s, earning him today’s Fade Of The Day.

The hot climates of India have clearly helped chip away at the robust 21 oz. denim, which is revealing more and more slub as it fades. We don’t have much information on how Guatam achieved his fades, but by the looks of the heavily set creasing and pocket fades, it’s safe to say these were his go-to jeans for everyday wear. The fabric is still looking fairly dark after six washes and soaks, but the honeycombs and whiskers still shine through, and some subtle stacking can be seen on the ankles.

With no repairs to date, these jeans can keep the fading momentum they’ve picked up in their first year of wear, and Guatam could have a pair of grails on his hands in the not-so-distant future.
