It’s time for Fade Of The Day, and this time around, we’ve got a pair of well -loved Nudie Lab 3 Average Joes coming to us courtesy of Gerald Theckson of the U.S.A. Gerald has been wearing these jeans for a whopping seven years—way longer than your average raws. They may not be the most faded jeans we’ve ever showcased, but the merit comes in the smaller details and patina the they’ve picked up over nearly a decade.
These Nudies have seen mostly weekend-warrior wear, and have been washed a measured 12 times, so the indigo is still holding strong, even to this day. The lap is super faded, but there is still enough dye for subtle whiskering and creases to come through. The Average Joe is one of Nudie’s loosest cuts, so the honeycombs are very faint, but they still form part of what is a solid wear pattern.
Numerous crotch repairs have been needed, but Gerald tells us his beloved Nudies are looking a bit worse for wear nowadays, and it may be time to finally hang them up.
