Star of Hollywood Brought Back its Iconic Tarantula Rayon Pullover

I’ve seen this iconic Tarantula design reproduced by Toyo Enterprise‘s Star of Hollywood label many times, but when I saw this season’s edition I had a strange daydream whereby I bumped into Jeff Daniels wearing this shirt, and had a conversation with him about a) loving the shirt b) loving Dumb and Dumber, and c) the irony of him wearing this shirt after his lead role in 1990’s Arachnophobia. I guess he’s a Star of Hollywood himself, and my brain just connected the dots.

Star of Hollywood actually produced these eight-legged-freak covered shirts back in the 50s, so it’s good to see them being made again after Toyo Enterprise acquired the brand. There will certainly be some vintage nuts out there that are siked that they can buy this piece new, reproduced faithfully by Star of Hollywood from 100% high-density rayon.

This is classic 195os flamboyance at its finest, finished with a period-correct neck label to seal the deal.

Available from HINOYA for $175.
