Sage’s Ridger Type II Wabash is Just $100 Shipped

Times are hard for a lot of folks right now. The cost of living is skyrocketing in many places, with wages not always rising in correlation. For those of us with Jawndice (addiction to the sourcing and buying of high-quality jawnz) this means we’re having to cut back on spending and prioritize the basics. If this sounds like you, Sage is such a great brand to be hip to.

Based in Indonesia, Sage is a raw denim label that offers handmade, high-quality selvedge denim goods at tantalizingly affordable prices. They’ve been in the game for over 10 years, now, and our fade archives show that their clothing not only looks great, but ages beautifully, too.

Today, we’re shining the light on Sage’s Ridger Type II jacket in deep indigo wabash. The Indonesian brand has been making its Ridger silhouette for a fair few years, now, but this is the first time we’ve seen it in the iconic dotted workwear fabric made famous in the early days of railroad engineering. That’s right, this rendition of the Ridger is made from 14 oz. rope-dyed deep indigo wabash fabric. Look forward to the indigo in this fabric fading over time like the rest of Sage’s goods — it’s almost guaranteed at this point.

The Ridger silhouette is inspired by denim Levi’s Type II, sure. But in reality, this is a modern denim jacket splicing workwear references with modern sensibilities. It’s got contemporary updates like dual inside pockets, dual handwarmer pockets, and Sage-branded details like the blue Polaris pocket tab and leather neck patch.

Best of all, though? At the time of writing, this thing is just $40. Shipping from Indonesia hikes the overall fee up to ~$100, but in my humble opinion, that’s a bargain. Get your size right and you’ll be rocking this thing for years, smashing cost-per-wear out th park in the process.

Available from Sage for $40 (excl. $60 shipping).
