Connecticut’s own Marc has been wearing a pair of Pure Blue Japan X Okayama Denim for a year and he has a lot to show for their time together. Known for the Kakishibu dye used in the selvedge denim, these jeans are prone to some beautiful fading and let’s just say our friend did not fumble the bag. Nor did we think otherwise when we saw Marc’s name in our Fades inbox – we’ve been patina pals since 2022.

Constantly worn for 1 year, not only have many fades been coaxed out of these bad boys, from their hazy shins and endless accordion crinkles, the overall grain has them looking ultra textured. Like wearable sandpaper but much smoother to the touch. And check out those phone and wallet silhouettes, in addition to the crotch on the verge of blowing out, and the chip in the back right pocket. In our neck of the indigo-laced woods, these are all badges of honor that we can’t help but celebrate.
