2-Pack Tees – Five Plus One

Five Plus One is our weekly series of buyer’s guides. We pick a specific category and dig up five great options along with one that’s a little outside the norm.

We’ve covered T-shirts a fair number of times, both in our Five Plus One articles and elsewhere. But what we haven’t covered is T-Shirt 2-Packs, an easy way to flesh out your basics and a great way to add some new pieces to your wardrobe without breaking the bank.

1) Healthknit: Basic Tee

2-Pack-Tees---Five-Plus-One-Healthknit

Healthknit‘s Basic Tee is an awesome, affordable way to add some classic tees to your collection. They feature a tubular, seamless body for improved fit, in conjunction with a 100% cotton makeup that makes them 100% comfortable. They come in a standard fit but are known for running a bit small, so you will probably need to size up.

Available for $53 from Rhythmic Tones.

2) Whitesville: White T-Shirt 2-Pack

2-Pack-Tees---Five-Plus-One-Whitesville

We couldn’t run a shortlist on 2-pack tees without featuring Whitesville‘s seminal Quali-Ts. They’re a cult classic for a reason, and their inclusion in FX’s The Bear has thrust them into popular conscience. Their new-found popularity has caused them to sell out pretty much everywhere, but England’s American Classics has some in stock.

They’re made by a reproduction heritage brand now run by Toyo Enterprise, and are constructed from ringspun 100% cotton fabric. Since they’re sanforized they should experience minimal shrinkage, and the flatlock seams and taped neck make them incredibly comfortable to wear.

Available for £100 (~$126) from American Classics, or wait for restocks for $75 at Redcast Heritage and $50 at Hinoya.

3) Velva Sheen: Short Sleeve Tees

Velva Sheen is a big name in the t-shirt game, and anyone who has handled their pieces knows why. Their Short Sleeve Tees are definitely getting up there in price, but you get two American-made tees that are garment-dyed. They feature a single chest pocket and come in a wide range of colors, so you should be able to find something for whatever niche you’re trying to fill.

Available for $90-$100 from Brooklyn Tailors.

4) Healthknit: Military Tee 2-Pack

2-Pack-Tees---Five-Plus-One-Healthknit-2

If you’re looking for something a bit more slim fitting and more of an undershirt, then Healthknit‘s Military Tee 2-Pack is an excellent option. They’re made from a 50%/50% cotton/poly blend for increased durability, stretch, and moisture-wicking ability, and while that’s not for everyone it’s great to see these features available. Available in several classic colors, these are an easy way to bulk out your quality basics.

Available for $50 from Rhythmic Tones.

5) Samurai Jeans: SJ2PST-CREW Tubular Navy T-Shirt (2 Pack)

2-Pack-Tees---Five-Plus-One-Samurai-Jeans

Samurai Jeans might be known for their jeans (imagine that), but they excel at all garments they choose to produce. Their Tubular T-Shirts are solid and relatively affordable for such a premium brand. They’re made in Japan from 100% cotton, and feature tubular construction and a bound neck for increased comfort. They come in a bunch of great colorways, too, but their navy is the true standout, in my opinion.

Available for $77 from Redcast Heritage.

Plus One – Lady White Co: T-Shirt 2-Pack

2-Pack-Tees---Five-Plus-One-Lady-White-Co

Lady White Co.That’s really all there is to say. Anyone in the know knows that Lady White is one of the premier t-shirt brands, with their 2-Pack being an absolute steal if you’re a fan of their products.

They’re made in the USA from tubular 6oz. jersey fabric, and come in pre-shrunk to ensure they fit the same way, wear after wear. So why the ‘Plus One’ status? Colors. They don’t just come in white, black, and blue (although they do have those colors) but also in plum, slate, pewter, taupe, and so much more.

Available for $110 from Lost & Found.
