Tighten Up with A Vontade’s Military Herringbone Belted Utility Trousers

If you like the idea of a belted pant but don’t fancy leaning into the climbing/outdoor aesthetic, these pants from Japanese imprint A Vontade made be for you.

Taking cues from vintage military pants from both the US and the UK, these pants feature the fatigue-style patch pockets and olive herringbone twill fabric based on American qualities from the 1950s, but the belted construction of British military pants worn by the Ghurkas. This is a simple blend that allows the pants to be dressed up with a tucked-in button-down, or worn casually with a high-quality t-shirt and some kicks.

Each pair is made in Japan and has a full silhouette offering room in the thighs that continues through the leg, patch pockets on both sides, and the aforementioned belt that allows you to dial in the waist. The pants have been washed to remove the bulk of the shrinkage, so you can wear them straight out of the bag with no worries.
