Deadstock Kurabo Denim Makes Its Way Into Railcar’s New Felon Shirt

The latest release from California-based makers Railcar Fine Goods will have you chillin’ like a villain… or maybe even one step further. Dubbed the Felon Shirt, this one incorporates some deadstock material into their signature utilitarian styling for the ultimate casual denim shirt.

While the idea of a denim shirt in the summer months may have you rolling your eyes, this particular shirt is made using a lightweight leftover non-selvedge Kurabo Mills denim, so rest easy. The denim’s coloring is somewhere between light indigo and charcoal chambray — with a touch of brown — but it’ll age to a nice shade of blue over time.

When it comes to subtle detailing, they went above and beyond with this shirt. It’s got a double flat-felled chainstitched interior with (everyone’s favorite) chainstitch runoff on the sides. The side seam gussets feature exposed shells stitching, and the button holes are are lockstitched to improve longevity and holding power for the vintage deadstock buttons. Two asymmetrical chest pockets rule the storage department, because everyone knows sometimes your pants alone won’t do the trick.

Available for $220 at Railcar Fine Goods.
