We received dozens of entries for our recent giveaway in partnership with retailer Okayama Denim. For the denim category, one entry in particular grabbed our attention with all the right components – stacks on stacks, crispy honey combs, a full indigo spectrum, and some TLC in the form of jean repairs.
Biking to and from work helped to set in the high-contrast fades on this pair of 3sixteen SL-120x jeans which were worn by Michael Soo for only a year with one wash. Day in and day out, commuting to and working at a lab have resulted in shades of near-white to deep dark indigo. Some areas in between the stacks look like they’ve barely even seen the light of day. Frequent biking make for great honeycombs like the one’s Michael has developed. It’s also great for blowing out the crotch. As a result, Michael’s done numerous repairs on his jeans, all of them with his own two hands.
Though the jeans might lean toward the minimalist end of the denim world, the fades are ornate and speak volumes. Congratulations, again, to Michael for winning our giveaway and a big thanks to all those who entered. Tune in tomorrow for the winner of our non-denim category!
