Fade of the Day – Pure Blue Japan XX-007 (3 Years, 4 Soaks)

Pure indigo, pure slub. It’s time for Fade Of The Day and we have some well-loved Pure Blue Japan XX-007, submitted by Heddels reader Jazpar Yeo of Singapore, clocking in at 3 years and 2 months wear.

These PBJs have gone wherever Jazpar’s job as a photographer has taken him, and his journeys have led to some superb fades. The honeycombs are tight, defined, and burst through the deep indigo fabric, which has developed a coarse, slubby texture. A wallet and mobile phone have gotten the better of two of the pockets, but it’s OK; the tears have their own different shade of blue altogether, which only adds to the diverse indigo pallet of these jeans. Saying that, we even have some purple hues in the waistband—go figure!

Despite the damage, these jeans aren’t ready for the archives just yet, and are a prime example of the fading potential of Pure Blue Japan’s unique fabrics.
