Fade of the Day – Japan Blue x Blue Owl JBO-220 (10 Months, 1 Wash, 1 Soak)

The journey to denim evolution is a long road with many twists and turns, but it’s rewarding all along the way. For today’s Fade of the Day, we’re looking at a pair of Japan Blue x Blue Owl JBO-220’s sent in by Gregory Ngai of Seattle, Washington. They’re still early on their path to greatness, but Gregory has plenty to show for his initial efforts nonetheless.

Gregory tells us he’s worn his jeans mostly on nights and weekends so far, time that included lots of long walks and hanging with friends. The results are the early transformative stages of what was once a super-saturated, indigo-on-indigo denim shedding its first bits of blue, giving life to some fresh new whiskers and knee fades. These are gearing up to be some high-contrast, texture heavy fades, and it shows already even down to the stacking and roping around the ankles.

The journey continues…
