Fade of the Day – Naked & Famous Dirty Fade (15 Months, Unknown Washes)

When jeans are this faded, it’s hard to believe they were once raw and indigo-dyed. This pair of Naked & Famous Dirty Fades were not only blue once upon a time, but even featured brown and beige warp yarns, so the fabric would develop a “dirty” tone as it fades. As you can see, Heddels reader Apiz Mikaelson of Singapore has thrashed through any dye these jeans had, and that’s why they’re today’s Fade Of The Day.

Apiz has been wearing these N&Fs every day for 15 months, his daily motorcycling being a key factor to the insane dye loss we’re seeing here, especially on the thighs. They may be darn near white in most places, but there is still some notable whiskers and tight-knit honeycombs, both of which harbor some indigo between their creases.

Apiz might have ridden the fade highway all the way to the end, but at least he now has a beautiful pair of jeans for his denim collection.
