Fade of the Day – Levi’s 505 (11 months, 1 soak)

For today’s Fade of the Day, Troy R. Wells of Wichita, Kansas has given us his resumé translated into denim. Specifically, in the Levis 505 dialect. See the thing is, Troy works as a graphic designer and a liquor store clerk and works over 60 hours a week. Through both sitting for extended periods of time and long bouts of being on his feet, Troy’s jeans represent both his jobs.

Coming up on his one year fade anniversary in late July, Troy has worn his jeans nearly every day for 11 months and has only soaked them one time: that’s right, no washes! All of these choices culminate into one thing: FOTD worthy fades! No really, these jeans were made for fading and that just what Troy did. Like a lot.

Overall, these things are grimy, rugged, and beat up. Troy and his jeans just went for it and the results are great. The seat is bright, bright, bright, showing us the potential of the fabric itself. The honeycombs are deeply rooted and could compete with the best of ’em. The whiskers are on the smaller side but fit in with the overall look of the jeans, complemented by the dirty thighs.

Looking at before and after pictures is what its all about sometimes and one look at these jeans and you’ll see they have molded completely to Troy and his life. We looked forward to an update on this denim evolution!
