Real one Jake Alldread from the UK is bringing us some long term A.P.C love for today’s Fade of the Day. For eight years, these jeans have been all over the world with Jake, who works as a freelance photographer and session musician. Although there were a lot of cool parts about Jake’s life in that sentence, we at Heddels are focusing on one piece: eight years!!! Eight whole years Jake has had these things.
Wearing his jeans for so long, you’d expect a plethora of washes and soaks but Jake is keeping it relatively dry with only three washes and five soaks. In fact, Jake admits to having the same if not more repairs done to his jeans than washes/soaks, with at least eight.
These jeans are exciting to talk about because they are in the post-fade stage of their life. Don’t get me wrong, the whiskers, honeycombs, and impacted knees are still noticeable but what’s fascinating is that they are starting to disappear. Yes, Jake has achieved what some denim heads may dream about, fades so intense that they actually erase fade lines. The honeycombs have held on the strongest but are losing their definition. As for the whiskers and knees, the lines are barely visible. The result is a pair of truly light washed jeans. James, we look forward to the next update/final stage of these jeans: straight up white denim.
